Holy Cow Cluster

Picture
Resurrection is part of a cluster of churches in the OKC area called the “Holy COW” Cluster.  Other churches included are Lord of Life in Edmond, Our Lord’s in OKC, St Paul’s in OKC and Trinity in OKC.  We get together once every two months or so for food, fellowship, prayer and to talk about ways we can work together for worship, social events or community service.

 What's it All About?

Come and get to know members from the other ELCA Lutheran congregations in the OKC area.  All of the OKC area congregations are part of the Holy COW Cluster.

We begin by having brunch and then continue our meeting which includes:
  1. Praying for each other
  2. Planning activities (worship, service events, outings, etc.) we can do or sponsor together
  3. Finding out what is going on in each other’s congregations
  4. Praying for the ministry of each church
There are some great people involved. Bring yourself and (if you are able) a brunch item to share.

Next Cluster Meeting is Jan 25, 1-3pm, at RLC

The next meeting will be at RLC on Saturday, Jan 25, at 10am. Won't you join us?

All are welcome.  Please bring a brunch item to share if you are able.

Sing for Joy – Radio Program on KUCO (90.1) on Sundays at 8:30 AM

Our Cluster sponsors an excellent program out of St Olaf College in Northfield MN called “Sing for Joy” each Sunday morning from 8:30-9:00.  It is an outreach and an opportunity to let people who enjoy music learn about the Lutheran congregations in the OKC area.

If you would like to sponsor a week or more, please let Pastor Mark know. The cost is approximately $35 per week.

Cluster Update, Oct 2020

Our cluster of OKC area churches has not been doing much since Covid isolation began, but here are some things coming up which you are invited to participate in:

-Cluster Meeting:  Will be held on Saturday, October 10, at 10 AM at Trinity Lutheran Church in OKC (5701 S. May Ave). Come me meet some wonderful people from the other Lutheran churches in the OKC area.

-Bedlam Food Drive: Our congregations have a friendly competition to see which congregation is the most generous in collecting food for our neighborhood food pantries.  In addition to competing as congregations against each other, we have a competition between OU and OSU fans to see which team has the most generous fans.  Last year RLC got second place and provided the impetus for OSU to defeat OU in generosity.  We will begin collecting food soon, and will collect until the Bedlam game on November 21.

-Cluster Coordinator: The Cluster has a person from one of our congregations who serves as “Cluster Coordinator.”  The purpose of this role is to be the liaison between our Cluster and the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod.  As part of the role, this person serves on the Synod Council.  Talk to Pastor Mark if you are interested.

-Sing for Joy sponsorship: Our cluster sponsors a radio program from St Olaf College in Northfield, MN called “Sing for Joy.”  It is on KUCO (FM 90.1) at 8:30 on Sunday mornings.  During this time of Covid isolation, this is an excellent outreach to those who are not able to go to church.  If you would like to contribute toward sponsorship, let Pastor Mark know.

-Fellowship Outing at Fassler Hall: Come join in a socially distanced time of fellowship at Fassler Hall in OKC.  They have outside seating, so we can gather safely.  Date and time not yet set.
