Easter Worship ThemesTheme for the season of Easter (April 16-May 21)
“Understanding and Entering Fully Into EVERYTHING Jesus paid for on the Cross” There are many different understandings of our sinful condition in the Bible, but for each understanding of sin, the cross has an answer. This season of Easter we will be looking at how fully we have understood and experienced everything Jesus purchased on the cross for us. Here are some of the themes: April 16: “Solution for Pollution of Sin (Atonement)” Jesus became the sacrifice for my sin, so I am no longer unclean. April 23: “Payment for the Penalty of Sin (Justification)” Jesus paid the legal penalty for my sins on the cross, so I have been declared NOT GUILTY. April 30: “Breaking the Bondage of Sin (Redemption) Jesus set me free from the bondage I have sold myself into because of my sin. May 7: The sermon will be a message from Bishop Mike Girlinghouse focused on the theme of this year’s Synod Assembly. May 14: “Restoration of Relationship (Reconciliation) On the cross, Jesus restored my relationship with my Father which had been obstructed by my sin. |
