Fruit Trees for Swaziland
Nathan John's son, Corbin, has been serving in the Peace Corps in Swaziland. Nathan and Nicole wanted to do something lasting for the people there, so they had a spaghetti dinner fundraiser April 2018 to raise money to purchase fruit trees for the local people there. The event was well attended and many people volunteered to help. A big thanks to all who were a part of this event. See the photos that Corbin sent us of the tree planting. Inspiring!

Yukon's Manna Pantry and Compassionate Hands, Year Round
We support both of these groups in our community, through donations of both money and food. We have a food collection box in the fellowship hall, and also have special collections based upon changing needs. In addition, we do an annual Oklahoma State/University of Oklahoma competition, based on food donated in favor of each team (our version of Superbowl fun).
The City of Yukon Czech Festival, October
For several years, we handed out free bottles of water, but we stopped doing that when the City determined we were competing with groups selling water. So, now, our youth hand out pencils that have our church name on it, with a message to take time to pray everyday.
The Angle Tree, November
Each year, we ask our congregation to purchase gifts for children in our communities that are in need. In 2015, the children who received gifts were in Canadian County and some were part of the DHS System.
Collections for Special Needs
As special circumstances arise, we reach out to our congregation and the ELCA to support special needs. Past collections have included help for tornado victims, flood victims, RLC families in crisis, and more. We have also served meals to groups helping with disaster assistance.

Connecting Outward—with Our World
ELCA World Hunger Program
Children in our Sunday school classes make small donations which are combined to purchase items such as chickens, goats and more through the ELCA World Hunger Program. It is a very tangible way to help children get involved in helping others.
Building Houses in Haiti
In 2015, we had special collections to help build houses in Haiti.
Brondos Mission Work
For many years, RLC has supported the work of the Brondos family in Mexico. For more information, go to https://sites.google.com/site/dbrondos/mission-work and download the most recent issue of Brondos Missionary News below.
