We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), a 5 million member church, the 6th largest denomination in the United States. 

We join with 58 other Lutheran congregations in Arkansas and Oklahoma in the the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod.

Pastor Mark Borseth was called to Resurrection January 15, 2012. Pastor Mark is the husband of one wife - Betsy, and the father of three boys - Nathan, Andrew and Peter.  He has served as Pastor of Resurrection Lutheran Church in Yukon OK since February 2012.  He grew up on a farm near Decorah, IA where he graduated from High School in 1984.  He attended Winona State University in Winona, MN and graduated in 1988 with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Math.  While in college, he was involved in Lutheran Campus Ministry during the school year and worked as a counselor at Luther Point Bible Camp in Grantsburg WI during two of the summers.  He spent two years traveling with ministry teams sent out by Minneapolis-based Lutheran Youth Encounter after college.  The first year he toured the upper-Midwest, and the second year his group went to Papua New Guinea and Australia.  After traveling on teams with Lutheran Youth Encounter, he worked in their office oganizing youth conventions for three years before attending Luther Seminary in St. Paul, MN.  He graduated from Luther in 1997 with a Masters of Divinity degree.  Since then, Pastor Mark has served Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Beloit,WI, Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Minneapolis, MN, Our Saviour Lutheran Church in Harrisburg, PA, and attempted to start a new congregation in Hunstville, AL called Incarnation Lutheran Church.  When a tornado destroyed the meeting place for the new church in April 2011, the challenges to keep the new ministry going caused it to close late in 2011.  Pastor Mark and his family love being in Yukon! [email protected]

Lori Barthelmes, Youth and Family Minister, loves all God’s children and their families. Lori B. came to RLC full-time in 2005 from St. John’s Lutheran Church in Erie, PA.  [email protected]

Jenifer Belleau, Parish Administrator, she attended University of Alaska Anchorage and earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree while her husband served in the United States Air Force at Elmendorf AFB, Alaska. Jenifer and her husband David have three children (two by birth and one by marriage,) Sarah and her husband Austin, and Joshua.  She  supports the entire congregation administratively in a wide-range of tasks.  Jenifer has been with Resurrection for 14+ years, and works closely with all staff members. [email protected]

Rhonda Sestak,  Resurrection Kids Christian School Director, was named Director of Resurrection Kids in 2024. She manages 10 teachers and 56 children in the program.  Email: [email protected]

Our Synod Leadership

Rev Becca Middeke-Conlin, At our 2023 Assembly, spring 2023, Rev. Becca Middeke-Conlin was elected to succeed Bishop Mike Girlinghouse as Bishop of the Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

Pastor Becca currently serves as Director of Evangelical Mission/Associate for Youth and Young Adult Ministry. She is the spiritual and administrative leader of our synod and one of 65 bishops in the ELCA. She graduated from Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia (now United Lutheran Seminary) was ordained in September 2009.

Becca will officially assume the duties of Bishop in July 1, 2023. Pastor Becca previously served congregations in Connecticut and Pennsylvania.
