We are a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America(ELCA), a 5 million member church, the 6th largest denomination in the United States.
We join with 58 other Lutheran congregations in Arkansas and Oklahoma in the the Arkansas - Oklahoma Synod. Bishop Michael Girlinghouse is the spiritual and administrative leaders of the synod. He is one of 65 bishops in the ELCA.

Resurrection Lutheran Church is Biblical, Confessional, and Sacramental. Resurrection Lutheran Church is a growing congregation responding to God’s call to reach out with the Good News of Christ.
It is part of the movement known as Lutheranism, named after the 15th Century German Reformer Martin Luther. We do not worship Martin Luther, people just started calling Protestant Christians “the Lutherans” and the name stuck. We are Biblical
The Word of God is the norm of our faith. Our preaching and teaching is centered on the Scriptures. Scripture is read in every worship service and Bible study is encouraged in groups and at home. We bring our questions and our intellect to the Bible, praying that God guides our understanding. We are Sacramental We believe that Baptism and Holy Communion are the two earthly and visible means of grace whereby we are accepted and nourished by Christ. We believe that Jesus Christ fulfills his promise to be present in Holy Baptism and in Holy Communion. We believe that personal salvation is connected to daily living. In Christ, we have been changed and called to live in a new way. We DO NOT believe that we are perfect or that we have achieved holiness on our own. We DO believe that God continues to enable us to be more and more Christ like and that God is not just in our lives on Sunday but is with us everyday, in every place. We are Confessional We look to the ancient Creeds and the Confessions of the Reformation period as faithful explanations of the Bible and the Christian faith. We celebrate the Ministry of All Believers The Holy Spirit has given every believer gifts and skills. God calls every believer to use those gifts daily in the ministry and mission of Christ. We are an Ecumenical people We believe that Christianity is the true way to God and understand that God is at work in a wide variety of denominational traditions. We are part of a Global church The people called Lutheran are strong in Europe, South America, the United States and growing in Africa and Asia. We are a Giving People We are a people who recognize and celebrate God’s blessings of life, time, talents, and treasure. We give our gifts to further the mission of Christ and the Kingdom of God here in Canadian County and across the globe. Specifically, We Believe, Teach and Confess Our worship is focused on the Word of God, the Bible is the basis of our teaching and preaching, and we believe that Christ is truly present when we celebrate Baptism and Holy Communion. 1. This church confesses the Triune God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. 2. This church confesses Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the Gospel as the power of God for the salvation of all who believe.......... - Jesus Christ is the Word of God incarnate, through whom everything was made and through whose life, death, and resurrection God fashions a new creation. - The proclamation of God's message to us as both Law and Gospel is the Word of God, revealing judgment and mercy through word and deed, beginning with the Word in creation, continuing in the history of Israel, and centering in all its fullness in the person and work of Jesus Christ. - The canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the written Word of God. Inspired by God's Spirit speaking through their authors, they record and announce God's revelation centering in Jesus Christ. Through them God's Spirit speaks to us to create and sustain Christian faith and fellowship for service in the world. 3. This church accepts the canonical Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments as the inspired Word of God and the authoritative source and norm of its proclamation, faith, and life. 4. This church accepts the Apostles', Nicene, and Athanasian Creeds as true declarations of the faith of this church. 5. This church accepts the Unaltered Augsburg Confession as a true witness to the Gospel, acknowledging as one with it In faith and doctrine all churches that likewise accept the teachings of the Unaltered Augsburg Confession. 6. This church accepts the other confessional writings in the Book of Concord, namely, the Apology of the Augsburg Confession, the Smalcald Articles and the Treatise, the Small Catechism, the Large Catechism, and the Formula of Concord, as further valid interpretations of the faith of the Church. 7. This church confesses the Gospel, recorded in the Holy Scriptures and confessed in the ecumenical creeds and Lutheran confessional writings, as the power of God to create and sustain the Church for God's mission in the world |
